The Master and Fellows of Emmanuel College give notice that the inaugural Gomes Lecture will be held at the College on Thursday, 11 February 1999, at 5.30 p.m. in the theatre of The Queen's Building. Professor Amartya Sen, Master of Trinity College, will lecture on This Cambridge and that.
The Gomes Lecture has been endowed by Cynthia Wight Rossano and Kenneth Ralph Rossano, of Boston, Massachusetts, USA, in honour of The Revd Professor Peter J. Gomes, D.D., Honorary Fellow of the College, Plummer Professor of Christian Morals at Harvard University and Pusey Minister in The Memorial Church, Harvard.
Members of the University wishing to attend, subject to the availability of places, are requested to apply in writing to Mrs Karen Bazzant, Emmanuel College.
