Statutes and Ordinances, p. 153. At present the Drapers Professor of French (or a member of the Regent House appointed by the Professor) is ex officio a member of the Advisory Committee for the French Cultural Delegation. Since the Headship of the Department of French is no longer linked to the Professorship, it is proposed that both the Drapers Professor and the Head of the Department should serve on the Advisory Committee.

Statutes and Ordinances, p. 742. In the light of experience the Faculty Board consider it desirable to allow more time for the submission of dissertations and, in order to avoid excessive expenditure on payments to Adjudicators, to reduce from six to three the maximum number of dissertations that may be short-listed for submission to the Adjudicators.

Statutes and Ordinances, p. 835. It was the donor's wish that the fields of study should be 'forward-looking science subjects', and a list of permitted subjects was drawn up in consultation with him. The list included subjects falling within the scope of the Faculty of Biology 'A'. The regulations were amended in October 1996 to take account of the amalgamation of the Faculties of Biology 'A' and 'B' by including a list of Departments which previously comprised the Faculty of Biology 'A'. This list has proved cumbersome to administer, and the Managers wish to simplify the regulations. The proposed change has the approval of the donor's widow.

Statutes and Ordinances, p. 851. The funding provided by the Wellcome Trustees has now been terminated. See the General Board's Notice p. 179.

Statutes and Ordinances, p. 856. Following the suppression of the Wellcome Unit for History of Medicine, it is necessary to revise the composition of the Board of Managers of this Fund. See the General Board's Notice p. 179.

See the Vice-Chancellor's Notice, Reporter, p. 74. The regulations now proposed supersede those contained in Grace 1 of 28 October 1998, which was withdrawn (see Reporter, p. 139).

See the Council's Notice, p. 179.

See the Council's Notice, p. 178.
