INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER

We are seeking to appoint a graduate engineer at the Research Associate level, to join a research group in developing marine geophysical instrumentation for use in experiments at sea. The successful candidate will have expertise in both electrical and electronic hardware, including measurement and monitoring, and in related software development using C. She/he will have the ability to initiate innovative designs for instrumentation systems and see them through to successful realization, and will be expected to participate occasionally in oceanographic expeditions aboard research vessels. The position requires the ability to work independently as well as good teamwork skills.

The post is funded by the European Union's Marine Science and Technology programme (MAST-3). The appointment will be for one year in the first instance, at a salary in the range of £15,735 to £21,815, depending on age and qualifications.
