Department of Architecture: Notice

CAMBRIDGE UNIVERSITY MOVING IMAGE STUDIO

CUMIS (Cambridge University Moving Image Studio) has been set up to focus and co-ordinate teaching, research, and production in moving image based projects in the arts and sciences, with a University-wide remit. CUMIS is managed by the Department of Architecture and is located at 1 Bene't Place, Lensfield Road (tel 762549, e-mail info@cumis.cam.ac.uk); its facilities include digital image and sound capture, and post-production for individuals and workshop groups of up to twelve participants.

CUMIS is headed by Dr François Penz (ext. 30572) while Maureen Thomas (Head of Screen Studies at the National Film and Television School) is CUMIS Creative Director. Maureen Thomas (ext. 30573) can be consulted on Wednesdays during term on the 'language of the moving image'. Peter Cook (ext. 62549) is CUMIS Studio Manager seconded by Charlie Maragna.

CUMIS will stage an open day for the members of the University on Wednesday, 18 November, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.
