Theological and Religious Studies Tripos

The regulations for the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 401) have been amended as set out below. The current regulations allow the Faculty Board of Divinity to prescribe, for any paper in Group D, an alternative mode of assessment consisting of the submission of two 3,000-word essays, instead of a conventional written paper. The present amendment extends this provision to papers in Group B and Group C, so that it will apply to all papers of the Tripos except the language papers in Part I. The regulations have been amended, with immediate effect, as follows:

Regulation 18.

By replacing the words 'a paper or papers from Group D' by the words 'a paper or papers from any of Groups B-D'.

The supplementary regulations for the Theological and Religious Studies Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 405) have also been amended, as follows:

Paper 9. Christian culture in the western world

By adding at the end of the regulation the following sentence:

The examination for this paper will consist of the submission of two essays in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 19.

The Faculty Board of Divinity are satisfied that no candidate's preparation for the examinations in 1999 is adversely affected by these amendments.
