ANDREAS IDREOS PROFESSORSHIP OF SCIENCE AND RELIGION

The electors intend to proceed to an election to the newly established Andreas Idreos Professorship of Science and Religion with effect from 1 October 1999 or such later date as may be arranged. A non-stipendiary Fellowship at Harris Manchester College is attached to the Professorship.

Applications (ten copies, or one only from overseas candidates), naming three persons who have agreed to act as referees on this occasion, should be received not later than 16 November 1998 by the Registrar, University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford, OX1 2JD, from whom further particulars may be obtained. GRINFIELD LECTURERSHIP ON THE SEPTUAGINT

Applications are invited for the above lecturership for the two years beginning 1 October 2000. The lecturer is required to give three lectures each year on the LXX version of the Hebrew Scriptures. The stipend is £1,000 a year and a grant may be made towards travelling and other expenses. Candidates should send their names, a curriculum vitae and a statement of the subject of the lectures which they propose to deliver, together with any further explanation which they may think fit to offer, in eight typed copies (one, if from overseas) to Mrs E. A. Macallister, University Offices, Wellington Square, Oxford, OX1 2JD, from whom further details may be obtained. The closing date for applications is 27 November 1998.
