Exhibitions and music in the Fitzwilliam Museum

A CELEBRATION OF 150 YEARS: THE FITZWILLIAM MUSEUM 1848-1998

The following exhibitions are on view in the Fitzwilliam Museum:

The Fitzwilliam Museum: 150 years of collecting, on the Main Landing and in Galleries I to V until 23 December 1998.

The Fitzwilliam Museum: built and unbuilt, in the Octagon Gallery until 23 December 1998.

The Museum is open on Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 2.15 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

An Anniversary Concert to celebrate the Museum's 150th anniversary will be given by the Academy of Ancient Music at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday, 29 October, in Gallery III. The programme will include works by Handel, Corelli, and Vivaldi. Tickets for the concert (£20; £15 for Friends of the Fitzwilliam and concessions) are available from the Cambridge Arts Box Office (tel. 01223 503333). A complimentary glass of wine will be served in the interval.
