Classical Tripos, Part I

The regulations for the Classical Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 252) have been amended, with effect from 1 October 1999, as follows:

Regulation 10.

By amending the title of Paper 8 so as to read:

Paper 8.  Greek and Roman philosophy.

The supplementary regulation for this paper (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 257) has also been amended, with effect from the same date, so as to read:

Paper 8.  Greek and Roman philosophy
The paper will be divided into two sections. Section (a) will contain questions on a prescribed Greek text and a prescribed Latin text. Section (b) will contain questions on ancient philosophers and philosophical systems. Candidates will be required to answer four questions, of which at least one must be taken from section (a) and at least one from section (b); not more than two questions may be answered on any one prescribed text.
