Regulations for Examinations

Education Studies Tripos

The regulations for the Education Studies Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 281) have been amended as set out below. The purpose of the amendments is (a) to allow candidates to offer Mathematics as a main subject in Part I of the Education Studies Tripos, and (b) to make certain papers of the English Tripos available to candidates offering English and Drama in Part II of the Education Studies Tripos. The regulations have been amended as follows:

With effect from 1 October 1998:

SCHEDULE II

By amending the entry for English and Drama so as to read:

ENGLISH AND DRAMA

(a) The papers and other exercises specified in Schedule I.
(b) The following papers from Part I of the English Tripos: Papers 1-6 and 13.
(c) The following papers from Part II of the English Tripos: Papers 1-13.
(d) A dissertation, of not fewer than 6,000 words and not more than 7,500 words in length, to be offered in accordance with the provisions of Regulation 19 (previously numbered 20)1 for the English Tripos.

With effect from 1 October 2000:

Regulation 12.

Section II.  Main subject studies.

By replacing the words 'four written papers or other exercises in the subject, as prescribed in Schedule I' by the words 'the written papers or other exercises specified for that subject in Schedule I'.

SCHEDULE I

By inserting the following entry for the subject Mathematics:

MATHEMATICS

Papers 1, 2, and 3 set for Part IA of the Mathematical Tripos.
