Department of Pharmacology

COMPUTER ASSOCIATE

Applications are invited for the post of Computer Associate, Grade III/IV (full-time or part-time) to take up appointment in the Department of Pharmacology as soon as possible. The person appointed will be responsible for the day-to-day management, support, and development of computer facilities within the Department. The successful candidate will be expected to assist staff and students in using hardware as well as office software. The Department is a mixed platform environment using MacOS, Windows (mainly NT and 95), and Novell Netware, and makes extensive use of the University Data Network. Previous experience with most of these systems is essential, as are good communication and interpersonal skills.

The appointment will be for three years in the first instance with the possibility of renewal. The scale of stipends for the post (currently under review) is as follows:

Grade III: £17,958 a year rising by six annual increments to £23,241.
Grade IV: £15,462 a year rising by three annual increments to £17,958.

Applicants with appropriate experience who are available for a minimum of twenty-five hours a week will also be considered (stipend on a pro-rata basis).
