DIRECTOR OF MUSIC IN CHAPEL

Selwyn College intends to appoint, with effect from 1 January 1999, a Director of Music in Chapel. This is a part-time post, suitable either for a self-employed person or for someone with other part-time appointments in the Cambridge area. The person appointed will have overall responsibility for all matters related to Music in the liturgy of the Chapel. There are always two Organ Scholars in residence at any one time, and the Director of Music in Chapel will be expected to work closely with them. The Chapel Choir comprises Choral Exhibitioners and volunteers. Choral services are sung three times a week during Full Term; there are additional services on certain Feast Days and for important College occasions. The person appointed to the post of Director of Music in Chapel will hold a Bye-Fellowship at Selwyn College, with a stipend of £3,000 a year and appropriate dining rights.
