Notice of benefactions

20 July 1998

The Vice-Chancellor gives notice of the following benefactions to the University, which he has accepted with gratitude:

(a) A bequest of about £1.5m under the Will of the Dowager Countess of Enniskillen. This bequest is in memory of the Countess's late husband, David Lowry Cole, Sixth Earl of Enniskillen, and is to be used by the Library Syndicate for the purchase of books for the University Library on subjects in which the Earl was interested.
(b) A bequest of about £51,600 under the Will of Mrs Inna Daglish in memory of her husband Robert Cyril Daglish. This bequest is for the encouragement of Russian studies.

The Council are submitting Graces to the Regent House (Graces 4 and 5, p. 909) for the approval of regulations to govern these benefactions.
