COLLEGE RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS, 1998-99

NON-STIPENDIARY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS

Darwin College usually elects several non-stipendiary Research Fellows annually. This is an advance notice to advise that the advertisements inviting applications for the Fellowships will be published in the Reporter in the middle of the Michaelmas Term 1998. Interviews are normally held in April and elected Fellows will take up the posts on 1 October 1999. The Fellowships are usually for two years in the first instance with the possibility of renewal for a third year. The Fellowships can be in any subject area.

FINLEY RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

A Moses and Mary Finley Stipendiary Research Fellowship will be available from 1 October 1999 and this will be advertised in the Reporter at the beginning of the Michaelmas Term 1998. The Fellowship will be for research into the ancient history of the Mediterranean world and/or the near East, down to the end of the sixth century AD. Interviews will be held in January and the elected Fellow will take up post from 1 October 1999 for a term of three years in the first instance with the possibility of renewal for a fourth year.
