University offices: Vacancies

The University follows an equal opportunities policy and has a policy on arrangements for part-time work.

Applications are invited for the following University offices:

Assistant Registrary (Deputy Safety Adviser) in the General Board Division of the University Offices

Assistant Registrary (Deputy Safety Adviser) to take up appointment as soon as possible. Applicants for the post will be expected to have occupational safety experience in the main areas of scientific work in the context of research and teaching in an institution of education. Preference will be given to applicants who can demonstrate experience of safety management in a wide range of work activities in establishments such as universities, particularly in either radiological protection or biological safety. The appointment will be made for an initial period of three years, unless that requirement is waived by the Council, with the possibility of reappointment to the retiring age.

The pensionable scale of stipends for an Assistant Registrary (currently under review) is £19,371 a year, rising by eleven annual increments to £29,875.

Assistant Under-Librarian in the University Library

Assistant Under-Librarian (VMS Systems Manager/Programmer) in the University Library to take up appointment as soon as possible. The successful candidate should be expert in VMS and have an interest in other related skills. Candidates would normally be graduates and would be expected to have had at least two years' experience of VMS management. The appointment will be for three years in the first instance, with the possibility of reappointment to the retiring age.

The pensionable scale of stipends for an Assistant Under-Librarian is £17,606 a year, rising by six annual increments to £22,785 (currently under review).
