RESEARCH ASSOCIATE IN 3D IMAGE COMPOSITION

A Research Associate is required to work on a two-year EPSRC funded project considering the compression of multi-view 3D images. This forms part of the University's on-going investigation into multi-view autostereoscopic 3D displays. The project will consider characterization of multi-view data, extension of conventional methods, development of novel algorithms, and preliminary investigation into a hardware implementation. The ideal candidate will have a relevant Ph.D., or appropriate commercial experience combined with a good first degree. He or she will have an in-depth knowledge of image compression techniques, MPEG in particular, and good programming skills, preferably in C or C++. Salary will be in the range of £15,159 to £22,016 a year, depending on age and qualifications.
