(i) in exceptional circumstances a Resident may be appointed for periods of not more than one year at a time;
(ii) no person shall hold the office of Resident for a total period exceeding five years;
(iii) any appointment to another office of Resident shall be regarded as a reappointment of the person concerned.2

6. That a Boscawen Fund be established in the University, to be governed by the following regulations:

BOSCAWEN FUND

 1. The sum received under the Will of the Hon. Mrs Pamela Sherek, sister of the Hon. Mildmay Thomas Boscawen, of Trinity College, shall form a fund called the Boscawen Fund.

 2. The capital and the income of the Fund shall be at the disposal of the Fitzwilliam Museum Syndicate and shall be used for the purchase of works of art for the Fitzwilliam Museum, in particular works of sculpture and metalwork, and for the care of the Museum's collections.3

1 These fees and payments were last revised in 1995. Increases of approximately ten per cent are now proposed; this is roughly in line with the increase in University stipends since 1995.

2 Statutes and Ordinances, p. 580. It is proposed to adopt the term Resident in place of the titles University Assistant Anaesthetist, University Assistant Pathologist, University Assistant Physician, University Assistant Radiologist, and University Assistant Surgeon. The term Resident is used informally in the Veterinary School, and is in common use as a official title in other veterinary schools. It is also proposed to reduce the maximum length of tenure from seven years to five; the Faculty Board of Clinical Veterinary Medicine are satisfied that this reduction will be in the interests both of the individuals concerned and of the Veterinary School.

3 See the Vice-Chancellor's Notice, p. 566.
