Notice of a benefaction

27 April 1998

The Vice-Chancellor begs leave to report that he has accepted with gratitude a munificent bequest under the Will of the Hon. Mrs Pamela Sherek, of Geneva. The bequest, which is for the benefit of the Fitzwilliam Museum, consists of a collection of fifty sculptures in bronze and, after payment of estate duty and other expenses, a sum of money which is to be used to enhance the collections of sculpture and metalwork in the Museum.

The Council are submitting a Grace to the Regent House (Grace 6, p. 583) for the approval of regulations to govern the fund which is to be established from this benefaction.
