M.D. Degree: Notice

The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Clinical Medicine, they have amended the regulations for the M.D. Degree (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 451) as set out below. This amendment relates to the possibility of exemption from the Act. The M.D. Committee regard the Act as an essential part of the assessment of candidates for the degree; exemption from the Act is granted only in the most exceptional circumstances. The purpose of the amendment is to remove any possible implication that absence abroad might in itself constitute a sufficient reason for exemption. The regulations have been amended as follows:

Regulation 17.

By deleting the words 'especially when a candidate is absent or resident abroad,'.
