Office of Pro-Vice-Chancellor: Notice

The Council give notice that, on the nomination of the Vice-Chancellor, they have made the following appointments to the office of Pro-Vice-Chancellor which became vacant on the retirement of Sir David Harrison on 30 September 1997:

Professor T. E. Everhart, Ph.D., CL, until recently President, California Institute of Technology, appointed a Pro-Vice-Chancellor from 16 February 1998 to 30 June 1998.

Mrs A. M. Lonsdale, M.A., NH, appointed a Pro-Vice-Chancellor for three years from 1 July 1998.

Statute D, IV provides for two offices of Pro-Vice-Chancellor. The other office is currently held by Professor R. M. Needham, W, who was appointed for three years from 1 January 1996.
