Graces submitted to the Regent House on 18 February 1998

The Council submit the following Graces to the Regent House. These Graces, other than any which is withdrawn or for which a ballot is requested in accordance with the regulations for Graces of the Regent House (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 113) will be deemed to have been approved at 4 p.m. on Friday, 27 February 1998.

1. That, on the nomination of the Council, Professor Sir David Williams, of Emmanuel College, and Professor P. G. Stein, of Queens' College, be appointed Assessors to the Visitor of Clare College to serve until the division of the Lent Term 2001.

2. That the Nursery Liaison Committee be retitled the Staff Childcare Committee, and that the regulations for the Committee be amended as follows:

Regulation 3.

 By amending the regulation so as to read:

3. The duties of the Committee shall be:
(a) to advise the Council on all matters relating to childcare for University staff;
(b) to oversee the management of the University childcare facilities for University staff;
(c) to administer funds allocated to them for these purposes.1

1 Statutes and Ordinances, p. 148. It is proposed to widen the scope of the Nursery Liaison Committee's responsibilities so as to include holiday play schemes, in addition to nursery provision. A change of title is also proposed, to reflect these wider responsibilities.
