BASF YOUNG SCIENCE WRITERS AWARDS,1998

The Daily Telegraph BASF Young Science Writers Awards are open to young scientists whether working or studying. There are two age groups, sixteen to nineteen years and twenty to twenty-eight years, and entrants are asked to submit an article on any scientific discovery or topic of research in a vivid and readable style, and in not more than 700 words. The first prize in each age group is an all expenses paid, week-long trip to the 1999 Meeting of the American Association for the Advancement of Science in Anaheim, California, £500 in cash, and an invitation to meet Britain's most distinguished scientists at the British Association's Festival of Science in September 1998. The second prize is £250 in cash and an invitation to the Festival of Science, and nine runners-up in each group will each receive £100.
