ANGLIAN WATER SENIOR RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP

Applications are invited for a Senior Research Fellowship sponsored by Anglian Water plc and tenable at Pembroke College and the Institute of Biotechnology, University of Cambridge. The successful candidate will be a Group Leader at the Institute and will hold a Senior Research Fellowship at Pembroke College. The Fellow will be expected to be a lateral thinker capable of interfacing with a wide range of disciplines within the overall field of biotechnology, and be able to demonstrate an ability to conduct and attract funding for high quality research, which will benefit the water industry and complement on-going programmes within the Institute.

 He or she will work closely with Anglian Water's Innovation Directorate and will have access to field and laboratory facilities within easy reach of the University. Ideas arising from the Fellow's work will be exploited by Anglian Water in its global operations. The Institute of Biotechnology (RAE5) is a unique organization that operates at the interface of the biological, chemical, and physical sciences, and targets its research where an inter- or multi-disciplinary approach is essential to success. The Fellowship is associated with a fully funded Studentship to support work towards the Ph.D. degree for a candidate in fields related to, or fully consistent with, the interest of the Senior Research Fellow. Pembroke College is a multi-disciplinary constituent unit of the University. The Fellow will be expected to undertake up to six hours a week of College teaching and direction of undergraduate studies.

 The term of the Fellowship will be five years, with the possibility of renewal for further terms of five years. Salary will be commensurate with age and experience.
