RESEARCH ASSOCIATE ON TYRE NOISE

Applications are invited for the post of Research Associate to work with Professor A. P. Dowling and Dr W. R. Graham on the development of a mathematically based model to predict the exterior noise generated at the tyre/road interface. This project is supported by EPSRC (LINK) and is to be carried out in collaboration with Dunlop Tyres Ltd, the Rover Group, and the Transport Research Laboratory. It is expected that the person appointed will have, or expect to have, a Ph.D. in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, and experience of modelling acoustic sources.

 Salary is on the Research Associate scale up to a maximum £21,016 a year. The appointment will be for a period of three years.
