St Anne's College, Oxford

OFFICIAL FELLOWSHIP IN FRENCH

The College proposes to appoint a Fellow and Tutor in French with effect from 1 October 1998, or as soon as possible thereafter. The Fellowship will be held in conjunction with a University (CUF) Lecturership.

The Fellow will be required to undertake not less than twelve hours' teaching a week for the College and must be competent to teach French literature of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries for the Final Honour School of Modern Languages and the associated Joint Schools, and for the Preliminary Examination in French. In addition, a contribution to language teaching will be required.

Applications are invited from candidates specializing in the period 1800 to the present day. All things being equal, the Faculty Board would particularly welcome applicants with an interest in modern literary theory.

Further particulars may be obtained from the Senior Tutor's Secretary, St Anne's College, Oxford, OX2 6HS, tel. 01865 274825, e-mail: heather.law@st-annes.ox.ac.uk. The closing date for completed applications is 26 January 1998.

Oxford University and St Anne's College are equal opportunities employers.
