REGULATIONS FOR EXAMINATIONS: NOTICE BY THE GENERAL BOARD

The General Board give notice that, on the recommendation of the Faculty Board or other authority concerned, the regulations for certain University examinations have been amended as follows:

Education Tripos (Old Regulations) and B.Ed. Degree

On the recommendation of the Faculty Board of Education, the General Board have determined that the Old Regulations for the Education Tripos (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 269) will continue in force, but with restrictions on candidature (see below), for one year longer than is currently stated (see Temporary Regulation 16 of the New Regulations, Statutes and Ordinances, p. 278). The effect of this decision is that examinations will be held under the Old Regulations for the last time as follows:

 for the Qualifying Examination in Education in 1998;

 for the Education Tripos in 1999.

In consequence of these revised arrangements, the General Board have determined that the current regulations for the B.Ed. Degree (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 424) will also continue in force for one further year, i.e. until 30 September 1999.

 The General Board give notice that candidature for the Qualifying Examination in 1998 and for the Tripos in 1999 will be restricted to students who have been approved as candidates by the Faculty Board of Education. All other candidates for the Education Tripos will take the examination under the New Regulations (Statutes and Ordinances, p. 276).
