Annual Meetings of Faculties

Architecture and History of Art

The Chairman of the Faculty of Architecture and History of Art gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Tuesday, 11 November 1997, in the Classroom at the Department of Architecture, 1-5 Scroope Terrace. The main business will be to elect, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), one member of the Faculty Board in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 1998. The retiring member, Dr G. Johnson, is available for re-election.

 Nominations for election and notice of any other business for the meeting should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board of Architecture and History of Art, Scroope Terrace by Friday, 7 November.

Clinical Veterinary Medicine

The Chairman of the Faculty of Clinical Veterinary Medicine gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, 19 November 1997, in the Committee Room of the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Madingley Road. The main business will be to elect two members of the Faculty Board in class (c), in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), to serve for four years from 1 January 1998. The retiring members are Dr J. M. Dobson and Dr M. A. Holmes.

 Nominations, signed by the proposer and seconder and accompanied by a statement of consent from the person nominated, together with notice of any other business, should reach the Secretary, Mr J. H. Tossell, at the Department of Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Madingley Road, not later than 14 November 1997.

Divinity

The Chairman of the Faculty of Divinity gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Thursday, 20 November 1997, in the Lightfoot Room of the Divinity School. The business of the meeting will include the Chairman's report, the report by the Director of CARTS, and the election, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of two members of the Faculty Board to serve for four years, and one member for two years.

 Nominations for election in class (c) must be seconded and the consent of the candidate obtained in advance, and should reach the Administrative Officer, Ms R. M. Paul, at the Divinity School, St John's Street, Cambridge, CB2 1TW, not later than Monday, 10 November 1997. Notice of any matter connected with the work of the Faculty which a member wishes to discuss should reach Ms Paul by the same date.

Engineering

The Chairman of the Faculty of Engineering gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, 12 November 1997, in Lecture Room 6 of the Engineering Department. Ballot boxes will be available in the Press Site and the Whittle Laboratory. Election will be held, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of one member of the Faculty Board in class (c), to serve for four years from 1 January 1997.

 Nominations and notice of any other business should be sent in writing to reach the Secretary, Dr J. H. Brunton, not later than 5 p.m. on Thursday, 6 November 1997.

English

The Chairman of the Faculty of English gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, 13 November 1997, in Seminar Room 3 of the Faculty of History.

 The main business will be to elect three members of the Faculty Board in class (c) in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c) to serve for four years from 1 January 1998.

 Nominations, proposed and seconded in writing, should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board at the Faculty Office, 9 West Road, not later than noon on 6 November.

Modern and Medieval Languages

The Chairman of the Faculty of Modern and Medieval Languages gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Monday, 17 November 1997, in the Little Hall, Sidgwick Avenue. Elections will be held, in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), of three members in class (c) to serve for four years from 1 January 1998.

 Nominations, duly seconded and accompanied by a statement of the nominee's consent to nomination, and notice of any other business for this meeting should reach the Secretary of the Faculty Board at Sidgwick Avenue before Tuesday, 11 November 1997.

Oriental Studies

The Chairman of the Faculty of Oriental Studies gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, 11 November, 1997, in Lecture Room L1, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Sidgwick Avenue. The main business of the meeting will be to elect two members of the Faculty Board in class (c) in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c) to serve for four years from 1 January 1998; the retiring members are Mr J. D. Ray and Dr J. D. Smith.

 Nominations, signed by the proposer and seconder, and notice of any business which a member wishes to be discussed, should be sent to the Secretary, Mrs D. M. Bennett, Faculty of Oriental Studies, Sidgwick Avenue, Cambridge, CB3 9DA, so as to reach her not later than noon on Friday, 7 November.

Physics and Chemistry

The Chairman of the Faculty of Physics and Chemistry gives notice that the Annual Meeting of the Faculty will be held at 2.15 p.m. on Friday, 21 November 1997, in the Seminar Room, Institute of Astronomy, Madingley Road. The main business will be the election of two members of the Faculty Board in class (c), in accordance with Statute C, IV, 2(c), to serve for four years from 1 January 1998. The retiring members are Dr C. J. Adkins and Dr J. A. Leake.

 Nominations, signed by the proposer and seconder, and for which the consent of the candidate must be obtained, should reach the Secretary at the Institute of Astronomy not later than Monday, 10 November. Notice of any other business should reach the Secretary by the same date.
