Regulation 6(a).

By replacing the words 'the calendar year in which it is paid' by the words 'the calendar year next following that in which the awards are announced'.1

2. That, on the recommendation of the General Board, the Sir Patrick Sheehy Professorship of International Relations be assigned to the Faculty of History for the tenure of Professor J. B. L. Mayall.2

1 Statutes and Ordinances, p. 750. These amendments are proposed in order to allow greater flexibility in the payment of grants.

2 The assignment of the Professorship to a Faculty or Department was deferred until after the election had been made, so that the interests of the person elected could be taken into account. See the General Board's Report, dated 28 February 1996, on the establishment of the Professorship (Reporter, 1995-96, p. 478).
