The Junior Fellowship is intended for recent graduates, or for those working towards a higher degree. Equivalent projects, not to be submitted to a university, will also be considered. The grant for a Junior Fellowship is £8,500.
Applicants for the Senior Fellowship should have a doctorate or equivalent research experience. The grant for the Senior Fellowship is £13,000; exceptionally this grant may be renewed for one year. Both of the Fellowships are tenable for one year from September 1998.
The National Maritime Museum invites applicants who have completed advanced research:
(a) | in one or more types of instruments represented by the Collection; |
(b) | into the work of a particular individual or group of instrument makers related to the Collection; |
(c) | into some aspect of the history of the navigational sciences and the old Royal Observatory. |
The grant for the Sackler Fellowship is £12,500 a year, and it is tenable for two years from September 1998 in the first instance.
