Girton College

ASSISTANT LIBRARIAN

Girton College Library serves a community of some 500 undergraduates, 150 graduates, and the College Fellowship. Its book and journal stock covers all subjects taught within the University. It provides access to the Internet for academic support.

 We are looking for a full-time Assistant Librarian to take up post in early January 1998. Applicants should be graduates with library qualifications and working experience. Hands-on knowledge of computerized library systems is essential, together with good management and communication skills. Familiarity with the use of the World Wide Web as an academic resource would be an advantage. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to education, the ability to motivate a small library team, and an enthusiasm for working with a wide range of users.

 Salary is related to the University's scale of Assistant Library Officer, from £15,159 to £18,494. The appointment will be made on the first step of this scale.
