CHARLES OLDHAM GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP IN CLASSICS

Applications are invited for a Charles Oldham Graduate Scholarship in Classics tenable from 1 October 1998 for up to three years. The Scholarship is not open to residents of the United Kingdom. Applicants should already have a first degree in a classical subject or subjects (Greek and/or Latin Literature, Greek and/or Roman History, Ancient Philosophy, Classical Archaeology) and will be required to read either for a B.A. in Literae Humaniores, or for a higher degree in a classical subject. The Scholarship will meet all College and University fees and will pay an adequate maintenance allowance. The Scholar will be offered College accommodation throughout tenure of the Scholarship and will be charged for this at the current rates, which are significantly below commercial rents in Oxford. A Scholar reading for a higher degree will have certain rights to eat with the academic staff on High Table, or in the Senior Common Room.

For application forms and guidance on the application procedure, please write to the Tutor for Graduates, Corpus Christi College, Oxford, OX1 4JF. Completed forms must be returned to him by 28 November 1997.
