Notes for Discussants

All persons attending Discussions must wear academic gowns. If you wish to speak, please raise your hand when the previous speaker has concluded their remarks. When the presiding officer calls you to speak, please proceed to the lectern and remember to identify yourself for the benefit of others present.

If you have prepared a copy of your remarks, please hand it to the Reporter Editor as you leave the lectern. Please also send an electronic copy of your remarks to reporter.editor@admin.cam.ac.uk immediately after the Discussion, and by Wednesday morning at the latest.

Discussants will be asked to check a proof of their remarks prior to publication. So that your proofs reach you as soon as possible, your remarks should be clearly labelled with your name and email address. Proofs are usually sent out late on Thursday or on Friday morning, to be returned by 10 a.m. on the following Tuesday.

Audio recordings

Beginning with the Discussion of 8 March 2011, an audio file of Discussions will be made available on this page as soon as possible after the Discussion. If you do not wish your remarks to be published in this way, please notify the Reporter Editor at the Discussion, or as soon as possible thereafter. As with the published version, remarks considered irrelevant or defamatory will be omitted.
