Safety Audit

It is essential that the University can demonstrate best practice in safety management. One of the primary and proactive means for achieving this is through auditing. Endorsed by the University's Health and Safety Executive Committee, all departments of the Univeristy are subject to a formal safety audit on a cyclical basis.

What is a safety audit?

The terms "safety auditing" and "safety inspection" are often misunderstood and misused. The audit in this context is an independent objective and systematic review of departmental safety management, whilst inspection is an examination of actual conditions and is a departmental responsibility.
