Open Access Working Group

The Open Access Working Group completed its work at the end of 2012. As of 1 January 2013, the University has established an Open Access Project Board and a new website at http://www.openaccess.cam.ac.uk/.
Introduction
Following discussion at the General Board, the Research Policy Committee received a paper in March 2012 that outlined the need to consider the development of University policy in relation to Open Access. The Research Policy Committee agreed that a Working Group should be set up under the chairmanship of the Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Research, supported by the Research Strategy Office.
Terms of reference
- To draft an institutional position statement on Open Access in its widest sense.
- To draft an institutional policy on Open Access archiving of published articles.
- To make recommendations about the implementation of the policy.
Reporting
The Working Group reports to the Research Policy Committee and the General Board.
