Summary

Very many thanks to the speakers and delegates who helped to make 'Beyond Einstein' such a successful and stimulating day.

March’s Horizon seminar focused on the ground-breaking research being conducted in physics at the world-famous Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge. Our objective was to show how ‘far-out’ research in areas such as quantum science and astronomy drives breakthrough technologies and applications of the future. The seminar was chaired by Professor Peter Littlewood and was held at the Cavendish Laboratory, with dinner afterwards at Queens’ College.

This Horizon seminar fell in Cambridge Science Week and our final session was a panel discussion open to all members of the university and general public.

The audience
This event was open to global and 'Cambridge Phenomenon' companies alike. Previous Horizon events have included senior delegates from companies such as AstraZeneca, Boeing, BP, BT, GSK, Kodak, Merck, Microsoft, Nokia, Pfizer and Shell.

R&D - Beyond Einstein was supported by the Institute of Physics.
