By train
There are regular fast trains from London King's Cross and Liverpool Street stations to Cambridge. The journey is
around 50 minutes. There are also cross-country connections from the Midlands
via Peterborough and from Stansted airport (see timetable). If catching a taxi from outside the train
station, ask for Mill Lane off Trumpington Street, and the Research Operations Office (RO) is in the third courtyard on the right.
Buses also run to the city centre, and you can walk to the Research Operations Office in around
25 minutes from the station or 20 minutes from the city centre.
By car
There is no parking at the Research Operations Office. The nearest parking in the city centre is 10
minutes walk at Lion Yard on Corn Exchange Street, and there are four other
central car parks. There are also five Park & Ride sites around Cambridge: Cowley Road
(north), Newmarket Road (east), Babraham Road (south east), Trumpington (south west) and Madingley Road (west).
Buses to the city centre run every 12 minutes from 7am to 8pm.
From the south, travel up the M11 to Junction 12 and follow the signs to the city
centre and the Lion Yard car park.
From the north and west, leave the A14 at the junction with the A1307
and follow the signs to the city centre and the Lion Yard car park via Queen's
Road (the inner ring road). Silver Street operates a two-way road closure
system at various times during the day, and you will need to proceed via Fen
Causeway and Trumpington Street.
From the east, leave the A14 at the junction with the A130 and follow the signs
to the city centre and the Lion Yard car park via Chesterton Road and Queen's Road (the
inner ring road). Silver Street operates a two-way road closure system at
various times during the day, and you will need to proceed via Fen Causeway and
Trumpington Street.
