Training
Our training division offers support and practical guidance through every step of
the Research Grant Cycle.
Guidelines and training on the tools you will need for costing and completing applications and/or contracts as well as the management of your
grants is offered through various methods, tailored to your requirements.
- Coaching is provided by the Costing Clinic on the use of pFACT, which is the costing tool used by the University to calculate the Full Economic Cost [fEC] of any given project.
- Support and guidelines on the use of the various sponsor on-line application forms, such as the Joint Electronic Submission system [Je-S] is available in order to
accommodate you in the preparation and submission of research grant proposals.
- Training: Grant Management is provided on the use of the
Grants Module of the University Finance System (UFS).
This system allows you to monitor and manage expenditure against the grant.
pFACT Coaching Session
One-to-one coaching sessions are available at pFACTory, the Costing Clinic and cover various aspects such as how to use pFACT and the procedures on submitting a research grant application or contract through RSD.
A session is approximately one and half hours.
pFACT Consultations
At any stage during the development of an application, the Applications and Contract Negotiations teams are available to discuss and assist with a particular pFACT project in relation to the application form or contract/s.
These sessions have proved to be extremely popular and come highly recommended.
