Staff Pension Schemes
The principal pension schemes for staff employed by the University, at the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate and a number of other smaller employer associated with the University are:
Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS)
The Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) is a national scheme for employees on academic and academic related scales of pay which covers all the pre-1992 Universities and a number of other educational and research bodies.
Cambridge University Assistants' Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS)
The Cambridge University Assistants' Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) is a scheme for employees of the University and it associated employers is available to all permanent staff who are not eligible to join the USS.
The National Health Service Pension Scheme (NHSPS)
Membership of the National Health Service Pension Scheme (NHSPS) is open to University employees at the Clinical School who immediately prior to taking up their University appointment were contributing members of the NHSPS.
Cambridge Colleges' Federated Pension Scheme (CCFPS)
The scheme for non-academic staff at the participating Cambridge Colleges is the Cambridge Colleges' Federated Pension Scheme (CCFPS). It is open to all permanent staff at the participating Colleges.
