Storage Space

Mailbox

The default mailbox storage size is 1GB. Mailboxes should be maintained regularly and only business critical mail should be kept. Our systems will send you a warning message if your mailbox reaches 900MB in size, at 950MB you will no longer be able to send email. When you reach 1GB you will no longer receive email sent to you. You can check your mailbox size from within Outlook by right clicking on the folder called 'Mailbox Name', selecting 'Properties' and then clicking on the 'Folder Size' button.

M: Drive

Your M: drive is your personal file storage area and is provided as an area to keep personal non work related data. We recommend not using it for work related documents, as other people will not be able to access it in your absence. The storage limit for the M: drive is 200MB. You will receive a warning at 180MB.

K: Drive

The departmental file area (K:) and the cross departmental file area (R:) are limited by the amount of physical storage available. Whilst we continue to expand our storage capacity, storage costs money and these areas should be maintained so that obsolete data is not using valuable space.
