Vocational Qualifications
Learn while you earn
The University is committed to supporting the development of skills, experience and qualifications of employees. The initiatives below offer support to assistant staff to increase vocational skills and gain a qualification. These initiatives also give Departments, and the University more broadly, opportunities to "grow our own" skilled and qualified staff of the future, and provide greater flexibility for succession planning.

Vocational Training Fund
This fund supports the achievement of accredited vocational qualifications where the qualification is directly relevant to your role and supported by your department. All vocational areas are covered, including technician, IT, engineering, accounting, administration, horticulture, museums and galleries. Qualifications must be relevant to you and your role and may include NVQs, Apprenticeships, City & Guilds qualifications, HNC, or foundation degree.
See Vocational Training Fund for further information and an application form.

CareerStart@cam gives support for individuals at work through meetings with them and their line manager, and by arranging relevant vocational training through the Vocational Training Fund.
