Employee Development Initiative
This initiative is designed to encourage assistant staff to undertake further learning and development by providing a grant towards course fees.
Where the vocational training budget is not able to provide funding for a particular course, an application can be made to the EDI. You need to be able to identify how the course will either help you in your current job or help you to progress into future roles.
It is expected that you will pay the course fees yourself and that the course will be completed in your own time. If your application is successful, you will receive a grant of up to 50% of the fees, to a maximum of £150 per year.
A Career Development Loan may be available to help you fund your training.
The EDI application form is available online or from PPD. Applications can be submitted at any time during the year. Please ensure you allow sufficient time between applying for EDI and enrolling for your course.
