Why take part in CareerStart?
- CareerStart@cam offers flexible to employees who are new, or fairly new, in to the workplace.
- Careerstart@cam can help you to develop your skills, experience and qualifications to help in your current role and also to progress in your career.
- You could achieve an NVQ, an Apprenticeship, a City & Guilds qualification, an HNC, or a foundation degree, whatever is relevant to you and your job.
- Previous participants have worked in all areas across the University including building and installation trades, administration, catering, gardening, animal care and more.
- You, your supervisor and a CareerStart Coordinator will meet to discuss the most relevant part-time training and, once agreed, the Coordinator can help to arrange this. Ongoing support is offered throughout the training.
- CareerStart@cam also encourages support and networking between participants and past participants, providing opportunities to meet and share experience at in-house courses and other events. Topics have included communications skills, CV writing, First Aid.
