The following pages give information about projects, training and development opportunities for administrators and support staff working at the University.

New to Cambridge

Starting work in Cambridge is exciting and challenging. These pages set out how we can help you settle in and support you throughout your employment. They include a range of information, resources and events for staff who are new to working in Cambridge.

Training and development

Our Online Learning Centre provides a range of online and blended courses including Induction, Project Management, Time Management, Managing Diversity, Data Protection and Health and Safety.

In addition to courses and events offered by PPD, there are many other training providers within the University providing more specialised training eg finance, IT, health and safety. Find out more about what other training providers in the University offer.

Career development

For broad ranging career planning guidance; the Planning your career web pages provide a range of generic tools, templates and guidance to help you with your career development whatever stage you are at.

The Career Pathways Project offers a range of tools focused on specific job families, including a skills framework against which you can measure your current skills and compare them to those needed for your current role or the next role you are aspiring to.  Skills frameworks are currently available for the following job families: Administrators; Departmental/Faculty Library; Mechanical Workshop Technicians.

There is also support for assistant and support staff wanting to undertake vocational qualifications.
