Face-to-face courses and online learning means that as a member of staff of the University you have the opportunity to develop skills and knowledge that will help you to carry out your key responsibilities. These include both academic and administrative endeavours: teaching and learning, research, management and administration, as well as extending your knowledge of how the University works.

Targeted courses
The Learning and Development group delivers a wide range of learning and development interventions, including courses, on-line learning, bespoke provision for departments, support for HR business managers with responding to local needs, vocational qualifications. Targeted programmes are focusses on specific groups including heads of institutions, administrators, first line and middle managers, and others with specific responsibilities.
The Academic Practice group supports academic and research staff and graduate students, with a particular focus on developing knowledge and skills when taking on new responsibilities, such as teaching or academic administration. Programmes of personal development, including transferable skills development, address the specific priorities of research students and research staff as they strive to balance individual achievement with the many demands of a fast-paced working environment.
