Senior Secretary

School of Clinical Medicine

An opportunity has arisen within the Clinical School of Medicine to provide senior secretarial support within the new Clinical Academic Training Office (CATO). The role arises from the rapid expansion of clinical research training at the Clinical School and directly from the establishment of two new clinical academic training programmes. This post holder will provide administrative support to the administrative officer and a number of new and existing training programmes that lead to postgraduate qualifications. The post forms part of the secretariat of the Graduate School of Life Sciences.

Applicants should be educated to A-level or equivalent, be highly literate and numerate, be self-motivated and able to work on their own and as a member of team. Excellent organisational, prioritisation and communication skills are essential, along with an ability to work effectively under pressure. Accuracy and attention to detail are particularly important for this role. Applicants should have strong IT skills including experience of working with Microsoft Office, databases and information systems. Experience of working in Higher Education, preferably in graduate education, is highly desirable.
