What surprised me most about the students at Cambridge University was that they did not reflect the values and interests of the 'upper/middle classes' as I expected. More than anything, they reflected concerns and activities current amongst students nationally. At Cambridge today, attitudes towards career and travel ambitions, government politics, sex, drugs, sexuality, race, religion, health, gender and the stance towards animal and human rights are a reflection of our generation, not our social background - a concept which to this generation is too ambiguous to be meaningful.
