About the Human Resources Division

Welcome to the Human Resources Division. We deal with the HR management for more than 8,800 staff employed by the University.

Our responsibilities include:

  • delivery of the University's HR Strategy
  • promotion of diversity and equality of opportunity in employment
  • the development of appropriate personnel policies, procedures and codes of practice
  • the provision of support and specialist advice to departments
  • the maintenance of good employee relations
  • the preparation of contracts of employment
  • the maintenance of staff records and staff-based statistics
  • the delivery of comprehensive training opportunities (Centre for Personal and Professional Development)
  • meeting temporary staff needs (Temporary Employment Service)
  • providing confidential welfare support
  • administering the University's pensions schemes and payroll
  • promote health at work through the Occupational Health Service
  • servicing the HR Committee

In carrying out these responsibilities, we will seek to improve the services offered to the University, its institutions and its members of staff and welcome comments.
