Financial Planning and Analysis
The Financial Planning and Analysis section provides information, analysis and advice to support decision-making at University level as well as at School and Department/Faculty level.
The Central team provides financial analysis and input to the production of the University's budget and medium-term forecasts via the annual Planning Round. It also performs ad-hoc analyses of the University's financial position and outlook, working closely alongside the Planning and Resource Allocations Office, RSD and the Financial Reporting team.
It is responsible for preparing and submitting to HEFCE the annual TRAC and TRAC(T) returns which include costing information about the University's research, teaching and other activities. The TRAC return results in annually updated fEC (full economic costing) rates which are applied to research grants and contracts in order to recover appropriate non-direct costs.
