The University's policy on environmental issues states that it will make continued efforts to encourage modes of transport by staff and students which minimise the environmental impact.
The University must also respond to external pressures that are leading to a reduction of car parking spaces and car use in favour of other forms of transport.
The University is a member of the Travel For Work Partnership, which provides support to organisations in Cambridge and Cambridgeshire to promote more sustainable forms of transport amongst their staff. The Travel For Work Partnership runs a car sharing database (CamShare) and facilitates annual travel surveys amongst its members.
The University's most recent Travel Survey Report demonstrates that levels of travel to work by walking, cycling and public transport compare well with other organisations in Cambridgeshire.
The licensing of vehicles for undergraduates is looked after by the Motor Proctor.
Cambridge area travel information is also available from our online directory.
