About the Academic Division
Welcome to the Academic Division.
The Division undertakes various aspects of the University's academic administration and supports the General Board of the Faculties and its Committees.
There are over 100 members of staff, including Administrative Officers assigned to certain Schools, Faculties and Departments.

Academic Secretary
The Division consists of the following Sections:
- The Academic Secretary's Section – services the General Board of the Faculties, the University body responsible for maintaining the excellence of its teaching and research, and various other bodies.
- The Board of Examinations – responsible for the organisation of University Examinations, including accommodation, timetabling and payments to Examiners.
- The Board of Graduate Studies – responsible for the administration of all the University's registered Graduate Students.
- The Cambridge Admissions Office – the central enquiry point for all prospective undergraduate students and the focal point for widening access initiatives.
- The Education Section – services the General Board's Education Committee, which is responsible for the monitoring of quality assurance and considering course proposals and examination requirements.
- The Planning and Resource Allocation Office – responsible for:
- Strategic and Academic planning.
- supporting the Planning and Resources Committee and the Resource Management Committee.
- recording of centralised student information and the production of student–based statistics.
- International Strategy Office – central administrative support and front office for the University's international collaborations, and provides strategic advice to the University on international matters.
