Welcome to Cambridge!
The Newcomers and Visiting Scholars (NVS) help newly arrived University members and visitors, along with partners and families, to settle in and find out more about Cambridge. We provide a fantastic opportunity to meet people and make new friends! It really doesn't matter if you're here for a few weeks or a number of years, we would love to meet you!
There is no charge for membership to our group but members are required to register at one of our Tuesday morning meetings. Our informal meetings are held every week in Full Term from 10.30am at the University Centre, we usually have a speaker or a theme and these details are in our programme and Facebook. Many people stay on for lunch afterwards and then following lunch there is often a free walk with a City Guide, available for members only.
In addition to Tuesday mornings we host a full calendar of events, again - please see the programme and Facebook. Please book your tickets as soon as you can to avoid disappointment, some trips have limited availability. We are making a real effort to include weekend events for all you post docs who are unable to join us during the week, if you have any ideas about future trips please let us know.
